Our Story

Ice Cream Tricycles was founded by two close friends, Diane Lodge & Kim Champion – who were looking to offer a totally unique wedding service.

When Kim Champion’s daughter got married in 2009, she wanted an ice cream bike there, but couldn’t find a service that she liked.

Kim and her good friend Diane Lodge decided to buy an antique ice cream bike and restore it themselves. They had so many requests from friends and family to have the tricyle at other weddings, that the two women decided to start a small business called Events Factor Ltd.

Now Kim and Diane work full-time, with a team of temporary staff. They have THREE victorian Ice Cream Carts and SIX tricycles. They now offer 30 flavours of Rossi’s ice cream. They cater for up to 11 weddings a weekend, and do countless corporate events during the week.

“It has grown at tremendous speed in the last 14 months,” admitted Diane. “We took a leap of faith and it worked. We absolutely love what we do.”

They pride themselves on their wedding service, where they work with the bride to ensure the cart is decorated in the wedding themed colours, and they never send out the same bike or cart twice.

Their corporate clients include the likes of Gucci, Rolls-Royce and VW, and they’ll be in the VIP artists’ area at V Festival this year. They often turn up to a booking to find it’s at a celebrity’s house, and they’ve met footballer Roy Keane and jazz star Dame Cleo Laine.

They also have plans to branch out further, as the demand for ice cream can tail off in the winter months. They are planning to include hot desserts and focus on sweets in the winter.
